Who takes TCF Québec?

Candidates applying through Québec's own immigration selection programs, such as the Programme de sélection des travailleurs qualifiés (PSTQ) or the Programme de l'expérience québécoise (PEQ). Some programs only require certain sections — check your program's exact requirements before booking.

The four sections

Built around the real exam, not generic prompts

Every task is modeled on the actual TCF question types, timing, and grading bands.

Compulsory READING

Reading (Compréhension écrite)

Timed multiple-choice reading comprehension, adaptive by difficulty.

Compulsory LISTENING

Listening (Compréhension orale)

Multiple-choice listening comprehension, audio played once, just like exam day.

Compulsory WRITING

Writing (Expression écrite)

Written tasks of increasing complexity, from a short message to a structured argument.

Compulsory SPEAKING

Speaking (Expression orale)

Recorded spoken tasks, assessed for fluency, structure, and pronunciation.

The path to exam day

From first guess to confident score

A straight line from "where am I?" to "I'm ready" — every time you open the app.

1

Diagnostic check

A short placement across all sections gives you a starting level estimate in one sitting.

2

Practice by section

Drill reading, listening, writing, or speaking on their own, or run a full timed mock exam.

3

AI feedback, every time

Get graded like an examiner — score band, what's working, and exactly what to fix next.

4

Track your progress

Watch your level climb toward your target score, with a countdown to exam day.

Graded like the real exam

Feedback that reads like an examiner's notes

No generic "great job!" — every submission comes back with a level-aligned score band, what's already working, and the specific fixes that move you up one level.

Written expression · Task 2

“À mon avis, le télétravail présente plusieurs avantages, notamment pour l'équilibre entre vie professionnelle et vie personnelle…”

B2 Estimated level · 320/450 words · 3 grammar notes
Strong argument structure and topic sentences.
Watch subjunctive after “il faut que” (2 instances).
Add a counter-argument to reach the next level.

Example feedback — illustrative, not a real submission.

Before you ask

Frequently asked questions

Which TCF version should I take?+

It depends on why you're testing: federal Canadian immigration uses TCF Canada, Québec-specific immigration uses TCF Québec, French residency or nationality procedures use TCF ANF, and everything else (university, work, personal certification) uses TCF Tout Public.

Is TCF Québec harder than TCF Canada?+

No — it's the same format and length. The difference is which sections your program requires and which score thresholds apply, since Québec (MIFI) sets its own requirements separately from IRCC.

Do I need my own AI API key?+

No. Grading across every exam version is included in the plan — nothing to configure.

How is this different from the free TCF Practice tool?+

TCF Practice focuses on written expression and stays free with an optional bring-your-own-key model. MyTCFApp adds reading, listening, and speaking, includes AI grading with no key required, and covers every TCF version in one place.

When does it launch, and what will it cost?+

MyTCFApp is in active development. Pricing is being finalized — join the waitlist and you'll be the first to know when plans and early-access pricing go live.
